To Mt Mistake Farmhouse

Begin your Scenic Rim Trail adventure with an exhilarating climb up the Mistake Mountain Range. Trek through rugged dry sclerophyll forest, scramble over natural rock formations, and test your courage on a 16-meter rock ladder, all while taking in sweeping valley views. The trail challenges your strength and teamwork, with moments that will have your group cheering each other on at every milestone. By late afternoon, arrive at camp to relax, unwind, and share stories over a hearty group dinner, celebrating the day’s triumphs and setting the perfect tone for the adventure ahead.

Day 2 - Enter the regal Gondwana Rainforest and journey through ancient beauty

To Amphitheatre Eco Camp

Sunrise at Mt Mistake is a highlight of the day, and if the sky is clear, stepping out to the escarpment with a warm drink in hand is a truly magical experience. Begin your trek along a historic trail once traveled by bullock carts, gradually climbing before entering the ancient Gondwana Rainforest, a World Heritage-listed wonder. Wide paths allow for easy walking side by side, while more challenging sections guide you deep into the lush rainforest on a Grade 5 track, revealing its hidden corners and dramatic beauty.  Arriving at Amphitheatre Eco Camp, you can unwind in your treehouse-style cabin and take in the breathtaking amphitheatre views. Refresh, relax in the lounge, or head to the viewing deck to watch the sunset paint the forest in golden light. As evening falls, share stories over a hearty dinner and let the soothing sounds of the forest lull you into a restful night, fully immersed in the rhythm and magic of the rainforest.

Day 3 - Enjoy another day of exploring the beautiful Scenic Rim Trail

To Timber Getters Eco Camp

Begin your morning with the gentle sounds of the rainforest, rolling out your yoga mat on your balcony or down on the viewing deck for a moment of stretching and connection with the forest. As the day unfolds, you’ll start with a gentle warm-up along the access road, surrounded by the calls of native birds and the lush greenery of the rainforest. Puddles and muddy patches add a sense of adventure as you make your way toward the valley, gradually descending into the heart of this verdant world.
Half of today’s journey follows unmarked Grade 5 trails, where your guides lead the way over rocky boulder sections, tree roots, and uneven terrain, requiring careful footing and a mindful pace. A highlight of the afternoon is a refreshing stop at Dalrymple Creek, offering the perfect moment to rest and soak in the beauty around you. Arriving at camp, you’ll step into a historic logger’s site, complete with the old tin shack once used by timber getters, and take the afternoon to relax, noticing the subtle changes in the environment and the unique character of the camp. Admire the towering blue gum trees, listen to the morning songbirds, and gather in the lounge in the evening for a reflective briefing before a shared dinner, another day of rainforest immersion complete.

Timber Getters Eco Camp, a luxury off-grid retreat on a former logging site, offers immersive forest experiences and Dalrymple Creek Valley views. The stunning dining room provides chef-prepared dinners and energising breakfasts in a timber-celebrating setting.

Day 4 - Take in every moment of your last day on the trail before you reach your final desination

To Hidden Peaks Cabins

Following breakfast, gear is packed and ready for the day’s final walk. The trail begins with a steady climb up the fire trail past an old pine plantation, before heading deep into the rainforest on a Grade 5 track. Towering trees with massive buttresses line the path, and roots and rocky sections require careful footing. Emerging from the dense forest, the trail climbs over Bare Rock, offering 360-degree views on a clear day. The route then joins public trails, occasionally passing other walkers, before the sounds of the modern world signal the approach to the trail’s end. A short transfer brings guests to Hidden Peaks Cabins, where log cabins with private en-suites provide a place to rest. In the evening, gather around the fire pit to share stories and enjoy a final celebratory dinner, marking the conclusion of the Scenic Rim adventure.

Your accommodation: Hidden Peaks Cabin - remote

Hidden Peaks Cabins offer an off-grid nature retreat amidst 250 private acres at Main Range National Park's foothills. Day 5 - Farewell your guides and your fellow hikers

On your final morning a BBQ farmhouse breakfast will be served at a leisurely 08:00am. Enjoy some free time before you say a fond farewell to your guides and fellow walkers.
